Sakaney (Sakaney) is a classifieds marketplace in Kuwait — website sakaney.com and the Sakaney mobile app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account: your name, phone number or email, and your password (stored encrypted, never readable).
Your ads: title, description, price, specifications, photos, videos, and the area or map location you choose to add.
Activity: favourites, saved search alerts, ratings you give, and your notification choices.
Device: a notification token for your phone (only if you allow notifications), and technical data such as IP address, used for security and to prevent abuse.

How we use it

To run your account, publish and review your ads, and let buyers contact you.
To send verification codes by SMS and notifications you asked for (ad approved or rejected, ads matching your alerts, ad ending soon).
To keep the marketplace safe: review of ads, preventing fraud and spam.

What is public

Your published ads, the display name you choose, and the contact number you put on an ad are visible to everyone. Your password, email and private settings are never shown.

Publishing your ad on all Sakaney platforms

By publishing an ad on Sakaney you agree that it may be shown on all platforms owned and run by Sakaney (Sakaney), which are:

the Sakaney website (sakaney.com) and its versions for other countries;
the Sakaney app on Android and iPhone;
Sakaney's official social media accounts (such as Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, X and Facebook) and its WhatsApp channels;
any new website or app that Sakaney itself owns and runs in the future.

Only what you put in the ad is shown: title, description, price, specifications, photos and video, the area, and the contact number you chose for the ad. Your email, password and private data are never published.

Partner platforms: Sakaney may also show your ad on the platforms of partner companies it has an agreement with. Their names are always listed on the Sakaney partners page. This applies only if you keep «Allow Sakaney partners to show my ad» ticked when you send the ad (you can untick it); partners receive only the ad itself, never your email, password or private data, and must remove the ad when you delete it.

We do not sell your ads or your data.

When you delete or stop your ad, or its time ends, it is removed from the Sakaney website and app at once. To remove it from a post on our social media accounts, contact us from «Contact us» and we remove it within 7 days.

Photos

Photos are resized, and the Sakaney logo is added to them. Logos of other websites found in photos are removed automatically.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We only use trusted providers that process it for us: our hosting provider (servers), kwtSMS (verification SMS) and Google Firebase (phone notifications). Ads themselves (not your account data) are shown on Sakaney platforms and, if you allow it, on partner platforms, as explained in Publishing your ad on all Sakaney platforms. We may disclose data when Kuwaiti law requires it.

How long we keep it, and deleting your account

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the app (My account → Delete my account) or at sakaney.com/market/account/delete. Your ads, favourites and alerts are deleted. If financial records are linked to your account (for example paid ads), they are kept as the law requires, with your personal details removed. Copies in our encrypted backups are deleted within 6 weeks.

Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and backups are encrypted.

Children

Sakaney is not intended for children under 18.

Changes

We will post any change to this policy on this page.
